Education
The teaching activities are directed towards PhD students, Postdocs, scientists and other professionals in the field. Teaching activities are coordinated by WP4 and the individual courses and schools are assigned by WP5. For example, a Research Training Programme in Environmental Health Risk Assessment has been established (RA-COURSES ).
WP4 - CASCADE Teaching
The following activities are implemented within the framework of the CASCADE Teaching Programme:
1. CASCADE provides funding for PhD and Postdoc positions. Each PhD student and Postdoc has a Personal Career Development Plan dealing with the student’s training needs and scientific objectives.

2. Travel grants are available for PhD students and Postdocs who participate in CASCADE schools or courses. Receivers of travel grants are selected based on quality and relevance of their research projects and described motivation for participation.
3. Junior Scientists Sessions for PhD students and Postdocs within CASCADE are organised at the Annual Meetings. The sessions offer training in presentation and communication skills, project management, leadership, career building and research ethics. The Junior Scientists Sessions aim at building a strong network between the PhD students and Postdocs within CASCADE.
4. The CASCADE Mentorship Programme supports junior scientists in creating a successful career in science. The programme is open for PhD students and Postdocs in CASCADE and aims to increase career awareness by personal and professional career consultation and discussions with experienced scientists.
5. CASCADE puts large efforts into collaborations with other Research Training Networks funded in FP5 and FP6. An agreement on collaboration in postgraduate training between participating universities is beeing prepared.

WP5 - CASCADE Schools
CASCADE organises a series of summer schools and courses in the field of endocrine disrupters, food safety and health risk assessment. The entire programme is posted on the CASCADE education website.
WP5 also organises workshops in “Research Ethics”, to train PhD students, Post docs and scientists in ethical questions associated with research. A course in “Communication with the Public and with Media” addresses how to disseminate research to a layman audience and how to talk to different media.
