Joint action to identify knowledge gaps
The purpose of the CASCADE Open Forum was to identify knowledge gaps and research needs in the area of endocrine disrupting chemicals. During one day, more than 100 participants have been gathered for speeches, work shops, podcast video taping, interviews, networking and visionary discussions on the theme “Endocrine disruption – present health threats and future research needs”.
Over 100 meeting participants
CASCADE Open Forum attracted more than 100 representatives from eight reserach projects, US-EPA, OECD, Cefic, EFSA, European Commission, industry and NGOs. The meeting took place at Radisson SAS Royal in Brussels the 2nd of October.

With kind support from Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) video pod cast interviews with some of the speakers during CASCADE Open Forum where done.
This resulted in a complete new tool for dissemination for CASCADE - a CASCADE Channel at YouTube. Here you can watch interviews with the speakers of CASCADE Open Forum. The idea is to put all future TV and videos of CASCADE here. |

Opinion paper

The outcome of the meeting was a Strategic Agenda which clearly defined the mutual needs, interests and expectations in main activities areas: research, education and risk assessment.
This document is entitled “Challenges in future European endocrine disruption research – outlining identified research needs and opportunities” and it is signed by representatives from all the eight organizing projects.
We here point out major knowledge gaps and suggest solution to solve the remaining uncertainties in this field.
