Alliance CASCADE and other FP6 projects have formed a formal platform to maximise scientific efforts. This platform is called Joint European Platform for Nuclear Receptor Research, with ALLIANCE as acronym. The following FP6 projects form ALLIANCE today:
|
EWA
Estrogen in Women Aging
EWA studies the risks and benefits of post-menopause hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and develops novel and safer replacement therapy. |
ATHON
Assessing the Toxicity and Hazard of Non-dioxin-like PCBs Present in Food
ATHON designs studies to meet the quantitative and qualitative requirements on toxicological data for use in the hazard and risk assessment procedures. |
CRESCENDO
Consortium for Research into Nuclear Receptors in Development and Aging
CRESCENDO applies innovative (post)genomic and bioinformatic technologies in cells, model organisms and humans to study nuclear receptor signalling dynamics, integration of target gene responses and normo- and pathophysiology. |
|

|
|
CAESAR
Computer Assisted Evaluation of industrial chemical Substances According to Regulations
CAESAR develops (Q)SARs as non-animal alternative tools for the assessment of chemical toxicity under the REACH. |
PIONEER
Puberty onset-Influence of Nutritional, Environmental and Endogenous Regulators
PIONEER identifies nutritional factors that are directly or indirectly involved in early onset of puberty, observed in humans in Europe and other parts of the world. |
The objectives of the ALLIANCE platform are to create an “internal market” in nuclear receptor research build on the free movement of knowledge, researchers and scientific know how. The members of the ALLIANCE platform have access to a research database containing plasmids, cell lines, and transgenic animals available within the individual laboratories. ALLIANCE encourages in particular young researchers to join the platform in order to benefit from the high quality and variety of research tools.
If you are a ALLIANCE member please enter the database here.
